I'm definitely not leaving... but I am going to step up and say that I am trying my luck at avoiding gaming as my primary time waster.
This winter has taught me alot about life, and that I need to start taking a larger stab at life.
The gaming has been my primary pasttime for the last 10 years, and it needs to come to an end, or at least slow down alot.
I have noticed my game collection growing, and my free time shrinking, and I just don't see the point of dropping hundreds of dollars a month on something I don't enjoy that much any more.
So the PS3 is definitely going to be gone soon, Blu-ray can kiss my ass... there are no games I want for the system for at least as far as I can tell...
I have already exhausted the fun out of every game I own for the system, LBP2 is ruined due to the online not working, and GT5 just doesn't offer enough for me to stay interested.
The 360 is possibly going to get an update to the newer version, just for the storage space.
I will be selling 90% of the games I own for it, and probably will be canceling all preorders I have... Sorry Bulletstorm and MVC3... maybe in the winter next year.
as for playing what I already have... I have no real plans on enjoying anything.
My work schedule may be changing in the next few weeks, to an overnight shift, 11pm-7am so I won't even be on during the normal APEX gaming hours...
and Last but not least, I plan on becoming more of a photographer this summer, so photo trips are likely... meaning I won't be anywhere near my 360.
I don't know what to tell you all, but in my absence, know that I am still here, and still APEX.

Well the main thing is that you"re not leaving, I understand where you're coming from... I've been there.
I choose to stay because gaming is my interactive outlet, yeah I have other hobbies but they don't involve anyone else.
Of late I find myself bored with shooters, waiting for the next big thing to come around... I plan to pick up MVC3 but that'll have to wait.
Flying and racing games will keep my attention for now, BulletStorm is on my list merely for being so different on top of the Gears 3 Beta. (Gears will always grab me...)
Anyway, don't give up your collection... I know that you have plenty of oldies that every so often we pop in our consoles for a change of pace. Maybe you'll find a little more enjoyment playing some of your MP games with the rest of us. I know I still do.

its not 100% an issue of it being my entertainment outlet, as it is my outlet for wanton spending.
I find myself buying too many games, way too often, using money that could be better spent on becoming who I want to be.
I have over 60 games, not including the near 100 I have downloaded, and I find myself dumping an extra $20 or $30 on content, and then never playing the game again.
$100 a pop is how it feels to buy a game now days, and if you figure I buy an average of 3 of these $100 games a month, I could have bought a NEW car... Thousands of dollars wasting away on my shelf.
the PS3 is definitely going... I was keeping it around and telling myself how important Blu-ray was to have, but $30 a pop for a movie, adds up as well.
I bought the wheel to play Forza 3, and used it twice, bought the camera for both systems, and only ever used the 360 one for rainbow six.
I need to find a way to turn away from the games as my comfort, I could never understand how people can afford to live a normal life, and still buy the games I do... and I found out that they don't live a normal life, and are generally unhappy with the world around them.
One day I will be able to figure out when and where the gaming fits into my life, but it can't be the reason I rush home after work, or stand in a line at midnight anymore.

Ah, that sounds like me a few years back... I've gone from 2-3 games a month to 1 every 3 or 4 months, sometimes even longer.
Can't blame ya, you'd be missing out on other things, I stopped when I vowed not to buy anything that didn't include multi player and looking at your list of games that would make a huge difference.
All I can add is control the urge from that burning sensation in your pocket...

I get like that every couple years where I feel like gaming is nothing but a giant waste of time. Doing what you are going to be doing instead of gaming sounds like a very enjoyable hobby. Have fun.
Don't get me wrong you'll definitely be missed around here. Also glad that you aren't actually leaving just taking an extended hiatus of sorts.

Well the PS3 is now listed on Craigslist... and will probably be gone by monday.
Chances are that gaming is either going to become a single player only gaming scenario, or something I really enjoy multiplayer for.
I am going to keep Forza and Hot Pursuit... and the COD games and anything that just seems dumb to trade in or sell.
My 360 games, honestly I have enjoyed everyone that I have in my collection right now, and I don't see any that I NEED to get rid of...
When I look at the shelf and tell myself that I don't want to play any of them, it makes me wonder just who i am and why did I buy them.
There are tons of things I want to do, but when it comes down to it, the games prevented me from doing any of them... and it angers me.

And there's always the option of buying older games on the cheap.
Heck, I'm looking at getting Heroes over Europe, Heroes over the Pacific, Il Sturmovic and Blazing Angels 2 shortly not only because I would enjoy them but they go for less then 18 bucks a pop... (No triangles to shoot down in those... Lol!)
I still have most of the games you can see on my list and I know that Cove and Sokar hold on to their oldies too.

Well the PS3 is gone... after heeding calls and retarded emails, I did what any insane gamer would do... I brought it all to Gamestop.
I cleared $300 which paid off Bulletstorm, Deus EX and EDF2... PRE-ordered Forza4 and Skyrim... Still have about $150 left in store credit.
One of my friends has an extra copy of MVC3... grabbing that off him tomorrow for cheap.
It turns out the night shift thing has not even surfaced yet, so late night gaming is possible...
The Girlfriend thing is still going great, so when I have a free second to spend with her, I do... She generally goes to bed at 11pm... so from then til whenever, I am free to game...
3 hours a night seems just fine in my book, even if its not every night, thats more than enough for me.
I don't plan on picking up another PS3, so for now just pretend I never owned one... I hung on to a couple of games and the Blu-rays, I know I will eventually have something that will play the movies, and I will likely give the games to someone who will enjoy them.
See you online... Bulletstorm will be on tomorrows list of play... I will try out MVC3 at some point this week also... I'm worried, since I can't seem to beat MVC2 on the easiest level...

fighters have never been my forte so I have no inclination of picking up MvC3. Even if it looks fun.
I should be on sometime in the evening tomorrow to play some bulletstorm with anyone who is playing it.
Sad to see another ps3'r go away since it has been my priority system as of late. Usually on the 360 on the weekends. Though with bulletstorm out I may be on more often. Then gears 3 at the end of the year will become my top game more than likely.

Dude, that's a hell of a lotta games for your initial bid price... 3 days to go. Any way you can pull that and start higher?

nope... once there is a bid... its stuck there.
I don't expect to get what I started my buy it now with... which was $500... but I do think I will clear $200... I have a ton of watchers... which usually means its going to do well.
I also got bids on it while it had 6 days left... so I can't complain.
Truthfully, these are all games I loved, but I just can't find the urge to play any of them... nothing.
For the most part, I fully expect to hear an announcement from Microsoft stating Backwards compatibility, via Emulation on the next console, and since they are really pushing the online store, I would think that selling these games now, is my best bet, rather than being stuck with them 6 months from now.

photography is a great hobby. I did that for a while till I moved to filming. Have a company starting up soon where we are going to be doing promo vids for different companies. Hoping to make that a full time job so I can leave what I'm doing now. 100% sick of it.
