EPlaying this game and looking north from Henderson upon the strip has been almost depressing me. Beginning to miss living there more and more. Stupid game.
On a side note, love the game. A lot of fun.

Im not even at the Strip yet. Just on my way to Primm? Thats after wondering around for a few hours figuring out where to go. Haha
I second the love of this game. feels just like Fallout 3. Although the main story doesnt feel as driving as 3's (im probably just not far enough yet) and i figured out an old trick from 3 that helps out big time.
Onder did you get it for 360 or PC?

I was just looking north when I was in goodsprings to see the strip. Henderson is the town south of Las Vegas in real world. Also weird walking through primm. Also a real town.
I bought it for PC. Runs great. Have a full HD monitor so not missing anything graphically.
Also heard it is a smaller map but with a lot more to do. Iron sights are so far my favorite addition to the game.
Did you see Indiana Jones in the game. He is just se of goodsprings. Not sure but I think you need to have the wild wasteland perk to see him.

I didnt turn on the wild wasteland perk at the start. Probably do it on my second play though since it is the only way one can get the Alien Blaster.
and what do you mean Omega?

I love it like a Hot Fudge Sundae with Rainbow Sprinkles on top after going to church on Sundays.

By putting your abilities into your personality and having your barter and speaking abilities be your mains, you will level up faster than putting them into any other skills, due to the nature of conversations in the game, and the way that you get more xp for continuing a conversation that would have otherwise failed.
In Fallout 3 I went from level 7 to max in a bout an hour, due to a glitch in one of the conversations I was having with buttercup... it was pretty neat, all I had to do was keep talking to her, and then exit out after I leveled up to grab my perks...
It worked pretty well, I saved my game right before I hit level 17 or something, and then got the achievements for being nuetral, bad, and good by just killing the town, or giving water to a bunch of bums... and then continued to level up how I wanted to from the conversation.
I noticed that from having a lower level, I would only get 10xp... but with the sunglasses from the guy in megaton, my personality went up a few points and I was getting 15xp... once I kept putting it into personality, it would go up pretty fast, by level 17 I was getting nearly 100xp from conversations... which when you need 10000xp til the next level means you only have to talk to someone for 100 times, basically 2 minutes to level up...
I gave up at the level cap, and when they raised it, killing stuff at that point was no problem...
It also helps that you can't usually be killed in a town while talking, so there is no worry that you are just going to die... vs trying to kill bad ass monsters for xp.
I also thought that it would be funny if Sokars character was extremely talkative.

Nope its not one of those glitches but I know there are some in NV just havent looked them up to do yet. The one I did find was in F3, where you buy and sell an item back and forth and take all the shops money.
My character does have really high speech but just because its almost a necessity
Edit: Well I no longer have to do that above mentioned glitch to weapons and credits anymore. Found a way to basically max out my credits. Now i just have to finish off this level with a handful of xp to get to lvl 14 so I can get the Anti Material Rifle

Well just finished up my first playthrough and at about 54 hours its definitely the most time ive put into a single player game since I almost doubled what I put into Fallout 3 and both Mass Effects. I still have lots to do since there is 4 different paths to choose (2 that you could say are good (NCR and Yes Man) and 2 bad(Legion and Mr. House)). Also you need to choose rather early which side you're going to take so its not like you can go 99% of the way and save then reload it to take different paths. If it wasnt for Black Ops next week I'd probably get to 100 hours and do all the main quest paths but probably wont anytime soon.
Definitely a very close toss up between Fallout New Vegas and Mass Effect 2 for my vote for Game of the Year.
