I know, everyone here LOVES my movies... lol, and watching them, probably makes you want to try your hand at it your self...
So you have had your interest somewhat piqued, and you don't really know what options you have available to you... so while walking around Best Buy or PC Richard... you see a familiar name... ROXIO... and you think about how many time ROXIO has helped you pirate music, and dreamcast/playstation games, and you pick up the box... for the ROXIO VIDEO GAME CAPTURE device...
The first thing you see, is that it has component video inputs, so you assume its in HD... which technically it is... Kinda, since anything above 480i resolution is considered HD... and you say to your self... "SELF, I think this is the thing that Cove and Omega use..."
You would be incorrect, We use a much older piece of equipment, which remains basically unchanged for the last 3 years, mainly because it Works well...
You can buy the one we use at Best Buy, I haven't seen it anywhere else, but its growing in popularity...
I don't want to confuse anyone into buying the wrong one... so just remember... ROXIO is not the one you are looking for. even if is only $99... or when they drop the price to $69.... Roxios box should sell for no more than $20, considering the technology... the software is priced about the average at $50, and is not included with the device...
What you should buy... www.bestbuy.com/site/Hauppauge+-+HD+Personal+Video+Recorder/9317768.p?id=1218084034619&skuId=9317768&st=hauppaugge&cp=1&lp=2
its only $50 more than the Roxio and the software.... and this one comes with software... I got mine on ebay for a few bucks more a few years ago... so consider it a privilege, if you pick it up for $200.
The best part about it is the free customer support via Cove and Myself... lol
I'm not trying to convince anyone here to go out and buy another thing they don't really need... Im just trying to keep you from buying the wrong one and being really pissed about it.
